Should I wash raw canvas before stretching?
I have some raw cotton duck canvas that I plan on stretching myself. I have done this before, but this hass been laying around for a while and I was going to iron it before stretching, and then I thought maybe I should just wash it and that would get any wrinkles out of it. Should I wash it before I stretch it? If so, what kind of laundry soap (if any) should I use? Or should I just soak it? Should I dry it in the dryer or stretch it wet? Any advice would be apreciated. Thanks! 
i just stretch it, then spritz it with water lightly to draw it tight on the stretcher bars.
