what colour shoes and bag go with a gold mermaid dress?

I've bought a mermaid dress for prom (gold fabric with silver and gold sequins etc- has thin straps and quite low cut) but have no idea what sort of shoes to buy or what handbag!
Also, a bit of help with the hair, makeup and jewellery would be nice. I'm hopeless!
I have a darkish skin colour (indian) and black hair.

I would suggest either silver w/sequins or blue or red w/sequins. You may have to add your own sequins to match the style on the gown. As far as you hair either soft gentle curls that cascade down around your shoulders or below (if it's not long enough a hair piece is easy enough to get and then pull the top from your eyes up to the back to put the focal point on your eyes and cheek bones. Put a soft pastel pink on the upper part of your cheek bones and around the area above your eyes near the hair line and gently sweep a slight glitter just at the top outside of your cheekbones and under your eyes. As far as makeup depending on your accessories your eye shadow should never over power your face just accentuate your beauty, it sounds like you have a basic great color to work with, follow that, also study some bride magazines as the make up is more appropriate that the prom look, it's pretty. The only other thing I could think of would be is to actually put your hair up, a secret let your hair have one day after you wash it to put it up. Really clean hair is hard to put up and keep up. The only other option would be a pastel pink clutch and shoes if you want to focus on the gown.
