can i see a red blue 3d video in a polarised 3d glasses?

i am going to buy a polarised 3d glasses is it necessary to buy a red blue 3d glass to enjoy those kind of movies?will a polarised 3d glass work with those films?What will be the average price of the polarised 3d glass?

is it necessary to buy a new 3d monitor?even if i have 3d movies?

A 3d movie is 2 2d movies on the screen at the same time. One for the right eye only, one for the left eye only. They use a 3d camera with 2 lenses spaced apart like your eyes and both record a 2d film at the same time. Then they use glasses where each lens only lets one 2d movie through, blocking the other one. 3d dvd's in this format will work on any color tv or monitor and dvd player because color is used for the blocking and unblocking.

For the red and cyan(blue-green) 3d format called anaglyph, they pass the right eye movie through a red filter to tint it red and the left eye movie through a cyan filter to tint it cyan. Then the color of the lenses only let one color through. There are other colors that can be used like green and magenta and you must have green and magenta glasses, but red and cyan is the most common. Amber and blue is not used that much.

For polarized the right eye movie is passed through a filter to give it one polarized light wave, the left eye movie a different polarized light wave. Then each lens blocks the light of the movie for the other eye. A tv or monitor must have a coating on the screen so half the pixels do one light wave, the other half another, otherwise your screen just puts out random light waves. Acer has a polarized 3d laptop.

For shutter glasses those open and close left-right-left-right-left-right- etc. Then the 2 movies flash on screen very fast left-right-left-right-left-right- etc. So each eye only sees its own movie when the lens is open. You need a tv that does frame sequential 3d to use the shutter glasses.

Also for polarized and frame sequential 3d besides the tv that can do it and the glasses is a 3d blu-ray player to read the blu-ray disks in the new 3d format.
